After 8 weeks of constant lost time and lost money totaling $16,800 (not counting when this debacle actually began and a close encounter that nearly landed me in the hospital), several units and several repairs later, I finally have in my possession an acceptable iMac Intel Core 2 Duo build-to-order system. Apple, the invoice is in the mail.
