Beta Hardware Straight From Apple Warehouses (a.k.a Defect Depot)

November 25th, 2006 by Christopher Thompson

How many Replacements or Advanced Replacements were you forced to request before your new Apple Hardware was Acceptable (not perfect, just acceptable)? After 8 weeks of constant lost time and lost money totaling $16,800 (not counting when this debacle actually began and a close encounter that nearly landed me in the hospital), several units and several repairs later, I finally have in my possession an acceptable iMac Intel Core 2 Duo build-to-order system. Apple, the invoice is in the mail.

While the hardcore beta community is awaiting full details of the trials and tribulations of this designer, MacBetaGroup would love to hear from you. Had a forced hiatus thrust upon you recently due to unacceptable hardware? Feel free to gush forth with your own troublesome story, or other comments, and we’ll publish it right here for the world to be amazed.
